Mburo Blasters moved to the top of the Great Lakes T20 Men’s Tournament standings on Day Eight after a convincing six wicket victory over Bunyonyi Warriors, while Victoria Strikers kept the title race alive with a third successive win.
The Blasters climbed above Kyoga Avengers on net run rate after the former leaders suffered a four-run defeat to Victoria Strikers earlier in the day.
Bunyonyi Warriors made a strong start after choosing to bat first. Anas Baig continued his fine tournament form with 52, his third half-century, while Robinson Obuya added 21 in a 72 run opening stand inside eight overs.

With the foundation laid, captain Riazat Ali Shah took charge with an unbeaten 57, while Stephen Wabwose added 34 to guide the Blasters to victory and top spot on the table.

Simon Ssesazi anchored the innings with 70, while Jaffer Ochaya contributed 34 as Victoria posted 164 for eight.
Kyoga Avengers struggled to build partnerships during the chase and were left needing too much in the closing overs. Victoria held their nerve to secure a third straight victory and remain just two points behind the leaders in third place.

The title race now heads into a dramatic final day. Kyoga Avengers face Bunyonyi Warriors, while leaders Mburo Blasters take on Victoria Strikers.
A win for Mburo will seal the championship. Victoria still have an outside chance, but they must beat the Blasters and hope Bunyonyi can stop Kyoga in the other decisive fixture.
