Kakira Rugby Club management has announced a five-year partnership with RuckYard Sports Club as the new official home of the Kakira Simbas.
The move marks a significant milestone for Kakira Rugby Club, providing the team with a strong sporting environment to train, compete, and grow.
Through this partnership, Kakira Rugby Club will host its home matches, training sessions, and club activities at RuckYard Sports Club.
While the immediate Kakira community loses a premiership venue, the historical Dam Waters groundsthe region’s oldest rugby facility will continue to host top-tier league games despite the Jinja Hippos’ recent relegation.
“This is more than just a change of venue; it is a move towards a greater future. RuckYard Sports Club provides a place where greatness gathers, and we are proud that Kakira Rugby Club will now call it home,” read part of the statement issued by the club’s leadership.
With a permanent home secured, the Simbas who narrowly avoided relegation last season, look to leverage the improved facility to elevate their performance and operational standards.
Additionally, the move promises an upgraded matchday experience for supporters, while opening new revenue streams for the club through gate receipts and hospitality.
Management reaffirmed its ongoing dedication to its roots and development plans in the Kakira community as a way of giving young talents a platform.
“We will direct even greater effort into our feeder teams, academy, and surrounding communities by collaborating with local schools, and creating meaningful opportunities through sport.”
