Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC bested Uganda Martyrs to register their first-ever win against the Kiddawalimes in the FUFA Women’s Super League.

The valley warriors came from a goal down to beat their rivals 1-3 in a game played amidst a heavy downpour.

Uganda Martyrs won the first leg 1-3 in Kawempe’s yard and it was the same scoreline as Kawempe successfully avenged.

Left-footed Angel Kigongo Auki scored the opener for the hosts following goalkeeper Juliet Adeke‘s fumble.

10 minutes into the second half, Phinonah Nabulime saw the Uganda Martyrs goalkeeper off her goal line and scored a wonder goal to level matters.

Kawempe continued to look dangerous as Shakirah Nyinagahirwa beat two defenders and before her cross to the far post found unmarked Hadijah Nandago, who comfortably headed in to put her side in the lead.

Uganda Martyrs introduced three attack-minded players in Shamusa Najjuma, Latifah Nakasi, and Brenda Munyana to hunt for the equalizer.

The league’s top scorer Nyinagahirwa couldn’t end the game without scoring as she netted the third and her 12th of the season.

In the other game of the day, UCU Cardinal‘s Ashiat Nalugwa scored a brace for the home team to deny Lady Doves maximum points.

Joweria Nagadya and Norah Alupo had scored to put the Doves in the lead, however, the hosts equalized from the spot through Nalugwa to share the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Lady Doves jumped out the relegation zone in meantime, as they await the results from Gafford and Makerere on Sunday.

Nalugwa’s brace took her to second place in the goal scoring charts with 10 goals, only 2 goals behind Nyinagahirwa.
