Out and Out Striker Benon Lutaaya finished top scorer with 22 goals and shone above all odds to win the most valuable player of the Kampala region third division  league after guiding his side to the second league title.

In the race to the title, Lutaaya scored the lone goal as his side beat Edgar’s FC 1-0 at Muteesa II Wankulukuku stadium. With the win, they overcame Proline FC, who were in the challenge.

Black Stars finished the league with 54 points with 21 wins and 5 draws out of 35, Proline FC finished on 53 points in the same number of games. Black Stars reached the FUFA Big League promotion play-off for the second time.

In 2023, Black Stars FC qualified for the Big League but sold the slot to Kiyinda Boys. However, this time round, they seem to be ready to take on Big League Challenge if an opportunity comes again from a two-legged match against Buwambo United, who won the Bugambo United FC.

Blackstars FC shall host the first leg on June 13 in Kampala before the return leg in Buwambo on June 20. The winner of the two legs will qualify for FUFA Big League; if the game remains tied after the legs, penalties shall come in to decide.

Kampala region has continued to raise its levels as in the past three seasons they have won twice the FUFA Big League promotion playoff over Buganda Regional league clubs, which were always winning, Black Stars Won, and Catida FC last season.
