NCS donates sports equipment to Ateker Cup

National Council of Sports, a governing body whose primary role is watering the grassroots of sports in Uganda, donated sports equipment to the Ateker Cup.

The annual sports tournament which features teams from Teso Region were handed an assortment by NCS General Secretary, Dr Patrick Ogwel at their head offices in Lugogo.

The equipment included; 100 footballs, 20 netballs, 10 volleyballs, three trophies, three sets of nets, and four sets of jerseys for the football semifinalists of the tournament which attracts 16 districts.

“The donation is in line with the NCS Strategic Plan of talent identification and development. Karamoja region has already benefited, and others to follow,” Ogwel noted.

The equipment was received by Ateker Cup tournament CEO Isaac Olupot, and other officials who wore ear-to-ear smiles.
