Pictorial: World Boxing president Umar Kremlev visits Uganda

International Boxing Association (IBA) President, Umar Kremlev landed at Entebbe International airport in a private jet on Thursday for a long day visit.

A number of activities were lined up by the local boxing governing body led by Moses Muhangi, the Uganda Boxing Federation president.

One of the items on the agenda saw Kremlev launch the construction of an international boxing academy in Matugga, Nansana Division in the Central Region of Uganda.

The Uganda Boxing Academy worth 5M USD will be built on 10 acres of land offered by the Buganda Kingdom on the orders of Kabaka Ronald Muwanda Mutebi II.

The facility will have; a competition arena, gym and fitness center, sports shopping center, swimming pool, hotel and accommodation among others.

Kremlev also had stakeholder meetings with officials from the National Council of Sports, the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Speaker of Parliament and Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom Charles Peter Mayiga.
