Defending champions, National Insurance Corporation NC, will be without their captain and defender, Joan Nampungu when they take on Makindye Weyonje NC at Kamwokya Community Sports Center today.

The game of the day will see the side coached by Mugisha Ali aiming at maintaining its top spot on the league table while Weyonje’s target will be to get back in the top four.

The table leaders will be without their captain Nampungu whose whereabouts are yet to be determined, with many in the netball circles claiming that she flew out of the country for greener pastures.

NIC defence will rely on the performance of Moureen Nankya, Privas Kayeny and Adunia Florence to stop the Makindye girls.

Weyonje lost their previous encounter against KCCA after getting two serious injuries in; goal shooter, Asinah Kabendera and their skipper Shakirah Nassaka but they are both available for selection.

NIC sit on top of the table with 16 points from nine games while Weyonje occupy 5th.

When these two sides met last season at Nakivubo Blue Primary school netball Court, NIC managed to beat Weyonje 51- 40.

In the other Saturday action, UPDF will host UCU while Police who lost to Prisons over the weekend will be trying to get back to winning ways when they entertain struggling Posta.

Unbeaten Prisons NC will also be in action playing bottom placed Ugx Luweero and all these games will be honoured at Kamwokya.
