Uganda Cup finalists and FUFA Big League side Police FC have confirmed parting ways with their coaching staff.
The Cops have sacked head coach Angelo Lonyesi, deputy head coach Yiga David and goalkeepers coach Faisal Kanene.
The decision to sack the technical bench comes after Police finished fourth in the FUFA Big League, just three points outside the promotion bracket.
NEC FC, Mbarara City FC, and Kitara FC were the top three sides, having finished third, second, and first, respectively.
Police also lost the Stanbic Uganda Cup final to Vipers 1-0 at the Akii-bua Stadium, Lira, courtesy of Milton Karisa’s goal.
Lonyesi was appointed last year in July before the start of the 2022/23 FUFA Big League season.
He succeeded Abdallah Mubiru, who was sacked before the close of the 2021/22 UPL season due to poor results, as they were relegated.
The club will now need to find a new coaching team that can help them achieve their goal of securing promotion to the UPL next season.
