The Uganda National Netball Senior team, the She Cranes Head Coach, Fred Mugerwa Tamale is working around the clock to have a 20 fit squad out of the provisional squad of 30 players.

The summoned team has 28 local based players and two professionals in Captain Peace Proscovia who plays for Surrey Storm and Mary Nuba Cholhok from Loughborough Lightning both in England.

“We are time bad, we would have started long time ago, at the beginning of this month but due to East Africa Club championship, we delayed,” Mugerwa revealed to Nnalubaale Sports.

She Cranes is getting ready for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham England, slated to commence in July this year.

The squad of nine shooters, seven mid court players and 14 defenders commenced training yesterday at Kamwokya Community Sports Centre.

“We are going to start with non residential training of two sessions a day. Then, we shall have a residential training for two to three weeks before heading to Birmingham,” the coach noted.

Uganda is in group B with the hosts England, New Zealand, Malawi, Trinidad and Tobago and Northern Ireland.
