Super League: Namulumba shines as Prisons register double victories

Lanky shooter, Christine Namulumba Kango ran riot against two league sides on match week 10 of the Uganda Netball Super League.

Namulumba’s accuracy guided her side Uganda Prisons Netball Club past Police and Posta on Saturday at Kamwokya Community Sports Centre.

Imelda Nyongesa’s soldiers beat Posta 78-19, with their main shooter, Namulumba Kango netting 75 goals alone. Prisons won all the four quarters, 08-12,04-20,04-22 and 03-24.

The second placed side on the log, Prisons also beat Police 66-44 in the last game of the day and in this, Namulumbu netted 63 goals and in total, Namulumba scored 138 goals which moved her to third on top scorers ‘ chart.

“As a player I am targeting to be a top scorer this season, yes I am coming from behind but we have played few games compared to those above me and I am trekking them slowly and I will get them,” Namulumba vowed.

Away from the Luzira side’s prowess, Busia Greater Lions bounced back to winning ways in style as they won both of their games.

They bested Mutelx Life Sport in an epic encounter that ended 44-42 before going back into the wounds of Posta, beating them 63-36.

The two wins moved Busia two places on the log from 8th to 6th position with ten points to their name.

In another fixture, KCCA beat Africa Renewal University 48-32 to maintain their unbeaten run and second position on the 12 team log.
