Overview
Kevin Bebeto is one of Uganda’s most exciting young rally drivers and national rally talent born on 3rd september 2006 who has grown up deep inside rally culture as the nephew of rally driver Kuku Ranjit and Kaka Junior.
For Bebeto, motorsport wasn’t something he discovered it was something he practically inherited, because in his world, the sound of engines, dust clouds, and “service park chaos” were normal childhood background noise.
From early on, he went from watching rally cars to confidently believing that every corner was “definitely flat” if you are brave enough.
Entry Into Motorsport
He officially stormed into motorsport in 2023 through autocross with a Toyota RunX, a car that quickly taught him that rallying has rules like “don’t trust corners” and “cones are personal enemies.”
Even in his debut, where he finished 6th overall, there was already that signature Bebeto energy full commitment, no hesitation and occasionally that look drivers have when they realize the corner was not as friendly as advertised.
In rally terms, he didn’t just enter the sport he arrived with intent and a heavy right foot.
As he stepped into the CRC, Bebeto became known for a driving style that fans described as “send it first, ask questions later.”
The Subaru Impreza N10 became his first serious weapon, and with it came the classic rally experience: more power, more speed, and more moments where physics politely reminds you it still exists.
Every stage seemed like a mix of talent and adrenaline, with Bebeto pushing hard enough that spectators sometimes had to check if they were watching a race or a demonstration of controlled bravery.
Codriver Partnership
In the co-driver seat, he has worked with experienced navigators like Musa Nsubuga, Siraj Kyambade and later Mwambazi Lawrence.
In rallying, co-drivers are basically high-speed translators trying to turn calm instructions into survival strategy while the driver is interpreting “tight right” as “maybe medium commitment or full send, depending on mood.”
Naturally, this creates the classic rally comedy inside the cockpit moments of silence after near misses, followed by the universal rally language of “we are okay I think.”

Vehicle
But this year, Bebeto has taken a massive leap forward upgrading from the Subaru N10 to a much more powerful Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.
And this is where things get even more serious and slightly more chaotic. Because in rallying, upgrading to an Evo 9 doesn’t just mean more speed it means the car now responds to your thoughts before you fully finish thinking them.
It is faster, sharper, louder, and definitely less forgiving. Basically, it’s no longer “learning the car” it’s now “respect the car or become part of the landscape.”

The Shell Vpower Pearl Of Africa Uganda Rally 2026
Kevin Bebeto enters the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally with explosive energy, high confidence, and that classic young-driver mindset of “we can make this work.”
Fans already expect him to push harder, slide wider, and possibly give service crews a few extra grey hairs before the weekend is over. But that is exactly what makes him so entertaining he doesn’t just drive stages, he attacks them like each corner owes him time.
Competing in the ARC2 category, Bebeto carries both pressure and pride as he defends home colours while chasing his first African Rally Championship points as the youngest driver in the field.
It’s a bold mission, but one he approaches with full commitment, where caution takes a back seat and ambition takes the wheel. In front of the home crowd, the expectation is to go fast, stay clean, and if possible, try not to make the service crew start planning early retirement.

Summary
Kevin Bebeto is not just a young driver in development he is a full rally experience. Fast, fearless, unpredictable in the best way, and now armed with an Evo 9 that matches his ambition.
In Ugandan rallying terms, he is the kind of driver who reminds everyone that talent is important but so is having a very understanding mechanic and a co-driver who trusts their own voice.
