Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women FC recorded a historic first league win away to UCU Lady Cardinals in Mukono on Saturday.
The visitors picked a 0-2 victory and eventually closed the gap behind second-placed Kawempe Muslim to a point.
Auki Kigongo scored the opener after miscommunication between captain Shadia Nankya and her goalkeeper Hadijah Nalongo.
A few minutes later, the little magician Sumaiyah Nalumu doubled the Uganda Martyrs’ lead with a rocket from outside the box.
Lady Cardinals are now in fourth position, five points above the relegation zone in the ongoing FUFA Women Super League.
Action returns today (Sunday) with two fixtures as Olila High School host League winners Kampala Queens while She Makerere will travel to Rines SS.
