The Victoria Pearls continued their dominance at the ongoing Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament in Kigali, Rwanda on Wednesday, picking up two more convincing wins.
In the morning game, the Pearls beat Botswana by 6 wickets, chasing down 81 runs with 12 balls to spare.
15-year-old Lorna Anyait was the star with the ball, conceding just 9 runs off her 3 overs and taking 1 wicket.
Malisa Ariokot also impressed, taking 3 wickets and bowling one of the two maidens of the game.
In the afternoon game, Uganda defeated rivals Kenya by 37 runs. Janet Mbabazi and Stephanie Nampiina both scored 31 runs, while Immaculate Nakisuyi added 22.
Kenya’s top scorer was Winnie Mwangi, with 19 runs.
The wins keep Uganda top of the five-team table with maximum points.
The tournament continues on Thursday, with Uganda taking on Tanzania.
