The Ugandan flags have been flying and blossoming in the skies ahead of the WRC Safari Rally in neighboring Kenya.

The Motorsport craze continues to grow in Uganda and many have thronged their East African neighbor waving the black-yellow-red for the WRC despite not having a Ugandan racing on the grid.

“I have just seen people carrying flags from Uganda. I urge many Kenyans to come here with their Kenyan flags as well. I am yet to see a Kenyan flag around here and I’m telling my fellow countrymen and women this is the moment to be patriotic,” commented President William Ruto.

Kenya is the only African country with a circuit on the WRC Rally calendar. The WRC Rally starts on June 22nd and ends on June 25th.

Duncan Mubiru was the only Ugandan in the Safari rally last year though he was running under the Kenya National Rally championship category.

Uganda is truly the motorsport capital of the African continent as revelers continue to pour from the Pearl into Kenya for the global showpiece.

The Ugandan fans of the Sport have always taken center stage in the event and it is no shock they’ve been pouring into Naivasha since Monday.
