Why SC Villa will host BUL duel at Wankulukuku

Kadiba has been SC Villa’s comfort zone this season, but on Friday the Jogoos will step away from it.

Villa will host BUL FC at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, shifting from FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.

The move is forced, Kadiba will host the Uganda Under-20 women’s team, the Queen Cranes, who are preparing for Saturday’s second-leg clash against Ghana.

The change also alters Villa’s routine. Kickoff is at 4pm, their first home game this season to be played in daylight. All their previous home matches at Kadiba have been under floodlights.

At Kadiba, Villa were strong. They won nine and drew four of their 13 home league games, turning the ground into a fortress. Only Vipers, Kitara and NEC FC remain unbeaten at home this season.

Wankulukuku, however, tells a different story. It was their home last season, but results were mixed.

Villa failed to win their last three matches there, drawing against KCCA and Kitara before losing 1-0 to NEC FC.

They come into this game with mixed form. A 2-0 loss to Kitara in Hoima slowed them in the league, but a 2-0 win over URA in the Uganda Cup semifinal first leg has lifted confidence.

Villa are fourth with 51 points from 26 matches while BUL are eighth with 34 points.
