The draws for the 2023 Netball World Cup were held on Wednesday night in Cape Town South Africa.
The draws for the 16 best nations in the universe saw Uganda’s national netball team, the She Cranes pitted in Group D with World’s number two, New Zealand.
In that same group, Uganda will battle with other nations like Singapore and Trinidad and Tobago.
The main threat for Uganda in the group is the Silver Ferns of New Zealand as Uganda has never secured a win against them.
Uganda’s latest defeat against the side came early this November in the Fast Five world series which was the second time this year after the Summer Commonwealth Games.
This edition’s world cup will be held in Cape Town South Africa in 2023 from the 28th of July to the 6th of August.
Uganda has only met Trinidad and Tobago once in the global event back in 2019 and the African powerhouse won 57-54.
