Brazil and Morocco shared the spoils in a thrilling 1-1 draw on Saturday as one of the most anticipated fixtures of the opening round delivered plenty of excitement at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The South Americans responded through Vinícius Júnior, whose brilliant finish brought Brazil level after a lively contest between two sides eager to begin their campaign with a statement result.

Both teams created chances to win the game after the break. Morocco remained dangerous on the counter while Brazil pushed forward in search of a winner. But despite several promising opportunities, neither side could find a second goal.

The result leaves Group C finely balanced after Scotland defeated Haiti 1-0 in the other group match. While Brazil and Morocco settled for a point each, both showed enough quality to suggest they will be strong contenders for a place in the knockout stage.
