The Uganda National U-20 football team, the Hippos hit the Africa Cup of Nations bulls eye for the second time in succession.

The Hippos beat hosts Sudan 2-0 in the semifinals of the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers, at the Kober Stadium on Tuesday to achieve the feat.

Rogers Torach and skipper Isma Mugulusi‘s second-half goals in the 54th and 70th minute respectively, were enough to sink the hosts and make the final.

Despite already making the 2023 Egypt AFCON, Uganda will now have to fend off opposition from South Sudan in the final to defend the trophy they won in 2020.

Sudan defeated Ethiopia by a 4-2 penalty shootout victory in the other semifinal, following a 2-2 draw after normal time.

The final is slated for Friday, November 11th at the Kober Stadium.
