AFCON U20: Uganda’s World Cup dream alive after a fair draw

Uganda U20 National Team, Hippos are fully aware of their group stage opponents for the forthcoming 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations finals.

From the draws conducted in Cairo, Egypt on Friday night, Uganda will face neighbours South Sudan, Central African Republic and Congo Brazzaville in Group B.

This will be the second appearance for the junior Uganda Cranes at this stage, from which the semifinalists qualify for the global showpiece.

The Uganda Hippos in their maiden appearance last year shocked the world when they reached the final only to lose to Ghana 2-0.

Action will take place from 19th of February to 11th of March 2023. The host cities are Cairo (Group A), Ismailia (Group B) and Alexandria (Group C).

The twelve-nation tournament will begin with a mouth-watering opening game between hosts Egypt and Mozambique on Sunday the 19th of February 2023 at 1600h local time.
