Uganda’s U17 Women’s National Team, the Teen Cranes, are brimming with confidence ahead of their crucial second-round clash against Kenya in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Captain Agnes Nabukenya expressed the team’s readiness and determination to secure a vital home victory.

“We have been prepared well to get the win against Kenya. The team is ready to show everything that has been learned in camp,” Nabukenya stated.

Uganda heads into the fixture with strong momentum after dismantling Namibia 18-1 on aggregate in the first round. Meanwhile, Kenya, with previous World Cup experience, presents a formidable challenge.

Teen Cranes head coach Sheryl Botes remains optimistic despite limited preparation time, emphasizing the importance of securing a home win and hinting at possible squad adjustments.

On the other side, Kenya U17 coach Mildred Cheche and captain Halima Imbachi acknowledged the intensity of the encounter, viewing it as a derby with high stakes.

The winner of this tie will advance to the third round, where they will face either Ethiopia or Cameroon as they inch closer to World Cup qualification.
