KCCA FC has ended its co-coaching arrangement by appointing Brian Ssenyondo as the club’s sole head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.

After sharing the role with Jackson Magera during the 2025/26 campaign, Ssenyondo will now lead the technical team on his own as the Cityzens look to mount a stronger challenge in the new season.

Magera remains on the bench but in a new role as first assistant coach, while Simeon Massa has been named second assistant coach, completing KCCA’s revamped technical setup.

The changes give Ssenyondo full responsibility for the team’s direction, ending an arrangement that saw two coaches share leadership last season.

KCCA has also strengthened its backroom staff with the appointment of Ram Nyakana Mpuuga as strength and conditioning coach, replacing Felix Ayobo, who has left the club to pursue other professional opportunities.

Nyakana brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked with the Uganda Cranes, SC Villa and Vipers SC. He also holds qualifications in sports science, conditioning coaching and sports management from the University of Leipzig in Germany, adding modern sports science expertise to the club’s technical department.

The Cityzens began pre-season training on Wednesday as Ssenyondo officially starts a new chapter as KCCA’s undisputed man in charge, with the club hoping the new structure will provide the stability needed for a successful 2026/27 campaign.
