Buganda Region League: Simba hits six, Ssekyondwa’s effort raises survival hope for Kiboga United

The Budanda Region 3rd division league continues to take an interesting turn as the promotion and relegation ends remain tight after 27 games, with two remaining to wind up.

Over the weekend in game 27 Simba/UWA FC dominantly defeated Builwe Redstars 6-0 at Namulonge playground on Sunday, May 24. Robert Ssewanyana and Sam Ssemugugu scored twice, Ronnie Ziraba added the other goal, and Kawuki scored an own goal.

In Seeta, the visitors, Buwambo United, won 2-0 over Nantabulirwa, with Alex Mutebi and team top scorer Enock Ssekatawa scoring in either half of the game.

In the promotion chase, Simba FC under Coach Andrew Mugagga is keeping the pole position in all aspects edging on head to head and goal difference, though they have to win their remaining two games since Buwambo is also on the same points.

On the relegation end, Kiboga United defeated Kira United  1-0 in Kira to step closer to three points behind Synergy FC. Yusuf Ssekyondwa scored the goal.

In other games, Manyangwa FC continued to fall with a 2-0 loss to Masaka City. With the loss, Manyangwa FC went behind Kiboga United on 23 points, to 26 points both with 27 games, while Synergy is at 29 points with 28 games.
