The defending champions Jinja SS had no issues putting away Aga Khan at their home ground, Captain Mulongo Paul (62) and Pius Oloka (50) with half-centuries that dug Jinja SS out of a tricky position after losing early wickets.

Aga Khan failed to find a second gear in the run chase losing wickets in succession en route to a heavy defeat. In the afternoon Aga Khan fell to Nyakasura thus ending their chances of qualifying for the semifinals. Nyakasura and Jinja SS face off tomorrow morning to decide who will top the group.

In the other group, record winners Busoga College Mwiri took care of both Teso College Aloet and Delhi Public School to qualify for the semifinals. Delhi Public put them to the test in the afternoon game but the willow of Gerald Olipa carried the team with a well-constructed half-century that sealed a nervy win for them.

In the plate event, Ntare School finally got off the mark not once but twice as they won both their games, Ntare had only failures from the group games but has grown confident in the plate event.

Masaka SS found their mojo with two wins to stay in contention for a place in the semifinals of the plate event.

St Joseph’s College Layibi had a mixed day, winning in the morning but falling to King’s College Budo by a solitary one run in the afternoon.
