Uganda Cranes shot-stopper Charles Lukwago has clinched the 2021/22 Ethiopian Premier League title with St George, in his maiden season.
He joined the Ethiopian heavyweights at the start of the campaign from Uganda Premier League outfit, KCCA FC and, immediately gelled in with The Horsemen.
He went ahead to start a whooping 27 league games out of the 30, as St George collected 65 points, ahead of runners-up Fasil Kenema who accumulated 61.
The shot-stopper garnered an impressive 18 clean sheets while he only conceded nine goals, a clear manifestation of what a brilliant season he has had.
He also featured for 90 minutes in the final league game of the season as his side thrashed Addis Ababa Ketema 4-0 on Friday afternoon.
Lukwago continues to emulate the likes of Robert Odongkara and Dennis Masinde Onyango, both of whom impressed and left a mark at St George.
In winning the Ethiopian league, he has added to his already rich trophy cabinet that also includes two Uganda Premier League titles (2016-17 and 2018-19) and the 2018 Uganda Cup.
He also won the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup, three FUFA Super Cups (2017, 2018, 2019) and the 2018 FUFA Super Eight, all of which, he won at KCCA.
