Buganda Kingdom in conjunction with Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) organised a stewards refresher course to curb hooliganism in the Mazasa Cup starting with the forthcoming quarterfinals.

The overall goal of the training was to enhance, develop, and strengthen the knowledge, skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources of safety and security.

Organised by FUFA the body in charge of sanctions in all football competitions, the group was in the able hands of CAF instructor and FUFA Excom member Ronnie Kalema.

Participants left Njeru Technical Center with updated knowledge and new skills of handling crowds on top of joining a network of peers in Uganda.

The course was closely monitored by Ow’ekitiibwa Henry Sekabembe, the Sports Minister of Buganda Kingdom, Hon. Patrick Nsanja the MP Ntenjeru and Sulaiman Sejengo the Chairman Masaza Committee.

Becoming a steward is a pathway towards becoming a senior safety and security personnel in a pursuit of becoming the next Dixon “Bond” Okello, a CAF and FIFA certified safety and security official.
