- Kampala Queens Vs Rines SS – Lugogo
As the FUFA Women Super League heats up, leaders Kampala Queens are set for another crucial test when they face Rines SS on Saturday morning at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
A victory for the Mutundwe-based side would extend their lead at the top to a commanding nine points, reinforcing their dominance in the title race.
For Rines SS, who currently sit 7th on the log with 18 points, the game presents an opportunity for redemption after their 3-1 loss to second-placed Kawempe Muslim.

A win on the road would see them jump to 5th place but overcoming the high-flying Kampala Queens remains a formidable challenge.
Kampala Queens’ left-back Winniefred Kwatulira exuded confidence ahead of the showdown, acknowledging Rines SS as a tough opponent but emphasizing her team’s readiness.
“Rines is not an easy team; it’s a stubborn team, but we are ready and focused to play against them. We expect three points from this game so that we continue topping the table and achieve our goal of winning the trophy this season,” Kwatulira stated.
She also took a moment to appreciate the club’s passionate supporters, urging them to turn up in large numbers.
“To our fans, we really thank you for supporting us. You’ve always been there for us, and we call upon you to come and support us like ever before.”
Assistant coach Kizza Sharon echoed Kwatulira’s sentiments, reinforcing the belief that Kampala Queens have what it takes to secure victory.
“I would say the team is prepared. We remember playing with Rines SS before, and they were quite physical, aggressive, and tactically good,” Kizza observed.
Despite acknowledging the strengths of their opponents, Kizza remains confident in her squad’s ability to deliver.
“I believe their coaches have done some good work to put the team together. Looking at their previous game this past weekend, we know they will come in strong, but I believe in our ladies. When they step onto the pitch, they will fight for the win and display the good football we always talk about. We are at home, so we believe we shall get positive results.”
In a significant boost for Kampala Queens, Kizza confirmed that the squad is in top shape ahead of the fixture.
“About the injuries, we do not have any in our camp. The ladies are all good, fresh, jovial, and focused on the game ahead. We are set for tomorrow.”
With no injury concerns and a determined squad, Kampala Queens enter the clash as clear favorites. However, Rines SS have shown resilience throughout the season and will be eager to spring an upset.
