Matchday 16 of the FUFA Women’s Super League delivered intense action across various grounds, with 14 goals scored in six matches.

The round featured three home wins, one draw and one crucial away victory that shook up the standings.

Kampala Queens extended their lead at the top, capitalizing on Kawempe Muslim’s slip-up against Amus College. Meanwhile, Tooro Queens’ away win over She Maroons saw them climb out of the relegation zone, pushing Olila deeper into the danger zone.

Kampala Queens 4-0 Rines SS – Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo

Kampala Queens cemented their dominance with a commanding 4-0 win over Rines SS. Star forward Zainah Nandede shone once again netting a brace while captain Shamirah Nalugya also found the back of the net twice.

Nandede opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Nalugya doubled the lead just before halftime. The final blows came late in the second half with two quickfire goals in the 84th and 86th minutes.

The result keeps Kampala Queens at the top with 40 points, now eight clear of second-placed Kawempe Muslim. Rines SS, on the other hand, drop to 8th place with 18 points.

Makerere University 1-0 She Corporates – Makerere University Playground

A crucial win for Makerere saw them edge She Corporates 1-0, thanks to a first-half goal from Zainah Namuleme in the 26th minute. Namuleme’s stellar performance earned her the Player of the Match award.

The victory propelled Makerere from 8th to 6th place with 19 points while She Corporates remained 9th with 15 points.

Olila 1-2 Lady Doves – Olila High School, Soroti

Lady Doves staged a brilliant comeback after falling behind to an early goal from Grace Aluka. Five minutes into the second half, Resty Kobusobozi equalized before Lydia Nyandera secured the winner just ten minutes later.

The defeat left Olila stranded in 11th place with 14 points, sinking deeper into the relegation zone. Lady Doves, meanwhile, strengthened their grip on 4th place with 26 points, just one point behind third-placed Amus College, who have a game in hand.

Uganda Martyrs 2-1 Wakiso Hill – St. Gerald’s Stadium, Lubaga

Uganda Martyrs came from behind to defeat bottom-placed Wakiso Hill 2-1. The visitors took a surprise lead in the 70th minute through Loy Ndagire six minutes past the hour mark but captain Latifah Nakasi inspired a comeback with a brace, scoring in the 78th and 86th minutes.

The victory kept Uganda Martyrs firmly in 5th place with 22 points while Wakiso Hill remained at the bottom with just 5 draws and no wins.

She Maroons 0-1 Tooro Queens – Luzira Prison Grounds

A crucial 10th-minute goal from Evelyn Katusiime secured a narrow but important victory for Tooro Queens over She Maroons.

This win lifted Tooro Queens out of the relegation zone, now 10th with 15 points while She Maroons dropped to 7th after Makerere’s win.

Kawempe Muslim 1-1 Amus College – Kawempe Valley Ground

Kawempe Muslim’s title chase took another hit as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Amus College. The game saw both goals scored by Amus players, Catherine Namataka’s own goal put Kawempe ahead before Doreen Aujat equalized in the 69th minute.

With this result, Kawempe Muslim remain in 2nd place with 32 points now trailing Kampala Queens by eight points. Amus College hold onto 3rd place with 27 points.
