Khadaala ready for the biggest challenge at Prisons Netball Club

As the Prisons gear up ahead of the Netball Super League return, capturing young talent is part of the agenda for the new head coach, Noordin Hassan Kato.

On that agenda, Prisons Netball Club went on to acquire six new players, including former St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende captain Nasim Kadhaala Dafala.

Upon her joining the team which won the league back in 2023, Nasim has disclosed why she chose to join the club. 

“I joined Prisons Netball Club to face big challenges, I understand that a big club like this must have many challenges compared to other teams. I believe in myself to succeed here being the fact that I have a lot of big players I understand, like Madam Lillian Ajio.”

The young star who idolises fellow defender Lillian Ajio plays Goal Defense, Wing Defense and Center. She made her league debut back in 2019 as a senior two student, featuring for UPDF Netball Club.

As the Uganda Netball Super League is set to throw off on Saturday, 5th April at Hamz Stadium but Prisons Netball Club will have to wait until 12th April when they will face off with WOB Netball Club. 

Despite a reluctant schedule at the beginning week, coach Kato is already confident in the work he has at the team. 

“It is two months since my appointment as head coach here but I have found great personalities here,  it is easy to work with the team here and we are already in good  tunes to start the league,  each member of the team has appeared much important but Lillian Ajio is still so special amid her age but she is swiftly fitting in.”

Lillian Ajio is a legendary player who joined Prisons back in 2012, playing as Goal Defender and for all those years she has been a key player ever since she joined the club.

In her words, Ajio (40) explained how she and the entire team are ready for the returning League

“Though the league was last played in two years back for us we have never stopped training, and we a glad that  through that training we have been in able to improve our weaknesses as the management finding new members fix where we are short, some young players have came in and they have shown what they can add to our team they are advisable on where they are lacking.”
