Vipers SC managed to squeeze a 0-1 Uganda Premier League victory against Arua Hill SC at the Barifa Stadium on Tuesday.

Nigerian Abubaker Lawal netted early in the game to ensure that Vipers return to winning ways following a 1-1 stalemate with URA FC last time out.

The Kansai Plascon derby win took the Venoms to 39 points in third on the 15-team table after 20 games.

Vipers now trail table-toppers SC Villa by four points, but have played three games less.

The Venoms nearly had a second in the 45th minute, but Karim Ndugwa headed wide a well-laid Garcia Mpongo cross.

Later on, Milton Karisa had his well-taken shot denied in the 53rd minute by Omedwa with a superb save.

In the 70th minute, Arua Hill wasted a decent chance, as Isaac Ogwang‘s overhead kick was denied by Fabien Mutombora.

Vipers will be back in action on Saturday away to SC Villa as they reach for the top of the table and #Twaake in style.

On the other hand, Arua Hill, who are fifth with 33 points, will be away against rivals Onduparaka FC on Friday at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium.
