Makerere University Business School (MUBS) salvaged a point against Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) in a thrilling 1-1 draw in the Pepsi University Football League.
MUST dominated much of the match, with Emmanuel Atuhire giving them the lead in the 50th minute. However, MUBS’ Joe Worrick Mbabazi equalized with just 12 minutes remaining, denying the hosts a well-deserved victory.
Despite a slow start, MUST grew into the contest and dominated play, missing several crucial chances, including three big misses from Rubin Opungu.
MUBS’ defensive efforts, particularly from Innocent Nasasira who blocked two shots from Stuart Magumba, were instrumental in keeping them in the game.
Both MUST and MUBS are in Group F, along with newcomers Muteganga 1 Royal University who are yet to open their campaign. The league will resume on September 26th with a match between Uganda Martyrs University Nkozzi and Muni University.
