National Insurance Corporation (NIC) shooter Stella Oyella scooped the award for finest netball player in the Real Stars Awards.
The awards ceremony for the most outstanding sports personnel for the month of May were held on Tuesday at Route256 Restaurant in Lugogo, Kampala.
“I am so happy to be named the best of the month, this is another motivating factor for me to yearn for more,” Oyella told Nnalubaale Sports.
She was deservedly declared winner over Jessica Achan of Prisons and KCCA’s Shafie Nalwanja who each had amazing outings in May.
Oyella, who also plays basketball at JKL Lady Dolphins, helped NIC win the East Africa Netball Championship.
She finished as the tournament’s top scorer, notably scoring 37 goals in the final against KCCA netball club at Kamwokya sports centre.
The winners took home cash and a plaque, courtesy of sponsors ForteBet Uganda and Jude Colour Solutions.
