Rines SS WFC came out on top in a five goal thriller as they defeated She Makerere 3-2 in the FUFA Women Super League, in Wakiso, to jump out of the relegation places.

End to end contest

With only 7 minutes into the game, Aminah Nababi beat two defenders before curling the ball with her sweet left foot into the back of the net to give Rine SS the lead.

The second goal of the game came just 20 seconds later as She Makerere forward Husna Mpanja scored a wonder goal with a long-range shot from the centre to equalize.

Fifteen minutes later, Jesca Namanda restored the lead for hosts with a smart finish off Elsie Najjemba‘s long ball.

The intelligent striker Jesca Namanda almost scored the third goal before the break but her fantastic volley was saved by She Makerere goalkeeper Zaharah Nankya.

Back from the break, Husna Mpanja’s shot hit the crossbar and Shakirah Nalule‘s clearance resulted in an own goal to make it 2-2.

The decisive third goal

The visitors nearly got the third goal but captain Josephine Ndagire‘s shot was denied by the crossbar.

After several attacks, Jesca Namanda was brought down inside the box by Winnie Nakanwagi and the referee awarded a penalty to the hosts.

Midfielder Eva Nagayi stepped up and scored from the spot to put her side in the lead for the third time.

Forwards Jesca Namanda and Aminah Nababi got two clear chances but bizarrely failed to put the visitors to the sword.

Rines SS are now in sixth position, three points safe from relegation while She Makerere remains at the bottom of the table with 15 points from as many games.

Champions elect keep unbeaten run going

Elsewhere, champions in the waiting Kampala Queens FC beat Olila High School 3-1 in Soroti.

Zainah Nandede, Resty Nanziri, and Grace Aluka scored for Queens. Apio Daphine netted the consolation goal for the home side.

Kampala Queens FC maintained their unbeaten League run and are now three games away from an invincible feat.
