FUFA Big League strugglers Adjumani Town Council dumped joint record holders Express FC out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Micheal Ajiga and Swadik Collensis struck for the hosts in the quarterfinals as they beat the Red Eagles 2-0 at the Paridi Playground on Saturday.
After struggling in the Big League where they sit 15th on the 16-team log, Adjumani will consider the season relatively successful having made the Cup semifinals for the first time in their history.
Express FC will have no excuses as they faced a second-tier outfit threatening relegation, who also had six of their players beaten by goons a week back.
On an evening to remember for the Adjumani folks, they went in front as early as the sixth minute through an Ajiga freekick, before the second goal in the 70th minute by Collensis who struck on the volley following a counter-attack.
The semi-final lineup now has three sides including another Big League side Police FC, plus Vipers SC who are the only top-flight side.
The trio will be joined by one of Soltilo Bright Stars or KCCA FC, who lock-horns later on Sunday at the Kavumba Recreation Grounds.
