2025/26 Uganda Cup | SF – Second Leg | Saturday May 16
- SC Vipers 1-0 URA FC (Agg 3-0, SC Villa go advance)
SC Villa moved a step closer to ending their long wait for Plascon co-sponsored Uganda Cup glory after completing a semi final double over URA with a 1-0 victory at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba on Saturday.
Holding a comfortable 2-0 lead from the first leg, Villa approached the return fixture seriously, with coach Zeljko Kovacevic naming a strong side to avoid any surprises.
URA started brightly and looked eager to force their way back into the contest, but their momentum faded as Villa gradually took control.
The Jogoos created the better chances in the first half, although wasteful finishing and determined defending from URA kept the game scoreless at the break.
Villa raised the tempo in the second half, especially after the introduction of Geoffrey Gaganga and Ibrahim Kasinde.
Their impact immediately stretched URA’s defence and eventually produced the decisive moment.
Kasinde’s dangerous effort in the 75th minute forced defender James Begisa into an error, with the defender turning the ball into his own net while attempting to clear.
URA almost found a response late on when substitute Ssekibengo beat goalkeeper David Lukwago, but his effort crashed against the crossbar.
The result confirmed Villa’s place in the Uganda Cup final as they chase a 10th title and their first since 2015, when they defeated KCCA in the final at the Mandela National Stadium.
