2026 CAF Africa Cup Of Nations | Group B | Morocco | Saturday May 16
- Cameroon 1-0 Uganda
Uganda Cubs suffered their first defeat at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations after a narrow 1-0 loss to Cameroon in a tight Group B duel in Morocco.

The Cubs, who had started their campaign brightly with a 3-0 win over DR Congo, were brought back to earth by a determined Cameroon side that needed a response after their opening defeat.
The difference came from Abdoulraman Soudeisse, who scored the only goal of the match to hand the young Indomitable Lions all three points in a game where chances were few and defenses stayed on top.
Cameroon began on the front foot, pressing high and trying to force mistakes. Uganda stayed compact and disciplined, closing spaces and looking to counter whenever possible.
But neither side found much rhythm in attack, with the match turning into a physical, tactical battle.
Uganda made changes in the second half, introducing Simon Ngobi, Ibrahim Fahad, and Brian Olwa in search of an equaliser.
Cameroon, however, stayed organised and managed the game well after taking the lead.
The contest also had a stop-start feel, with several yellow cards shown, including one to Uganda’s Kenneth Eze.
Despite the defeat, Uganda remain in contention for a place in the knockout stage.
They now turn to a decisive final Group B match against Ivory Coast on May 19, where a positive result could still secure progress.
Cameroon will face DR Congo in their final group game as the group heads into a tense finish.
