Kitara FC claimed the 52nd edition of the Plascon-powered Uganda Cup after a 2-1 victory over SC Villa in a closely contested final at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Saturday.
SC Villa took the lead in the 10th minute through Simon Kato Ssemayange. However, the advantage lasted only three minutes before Missi Diego Semugera turned the ball into his own net under pressure to level the contest at 1-1.
After the break, Kitara FC made a perfect start, completing the turnaround just two minutes after the restart when Jimmy Kalema struck to give the Hoima-based side the decisive advantage.
The result handed Kitara FC their second Uganda Cup title, having previously lifted their maiden trophy in 2024 after a 1-0 victory over NEC FC.
