Uganda Netball team, the She Cranes suffered a narrow 54-44 defeat to World Number 2 New Zealand in their second game of the 2023 Netball World Cup.

Despite a strong show by the She Cranes at the Cape Town International Conventional Center, it was New Zealand that walked home victors.

It was close from start to finish with New Zealand taking the opening quarter 13-11, a mere two-point difference.

The tally in the second and third quarters was not so different as they ended 25-21 and 38-32, respectively.

Despite the defeat, it was impressive shows from Mary Nuba Cholhok and Shadiah Nassanga, who managed 30 and 11 goals respectively.

It’s now one victory and just as many losses for Uganda, and the She Cranes will look to make an instant comeback against Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday.

Trinidad and Tobago managed a 75-40 victory over Wales on Saturday, having suffered defeat to the New Zealands in the first on Friday.
