Entry into Motorsport
Nanji’s journey into motorsport began with karting at a young age, where he developed key racing skills such as car control and precision. He later transitioned into autocross, gaining confidence and competitive experience before stepping into full rallying.
In 2021, he officially made his debut in the KNRC, starting out in a Volkswagen Golf GTI. This phase of his career was focused on learning rally dynamics, adapting to gravel conditions, and building endurance for longer competitive stages.

For this year, however, Nanji teams up with Azhar once again, rekindling a familiar partnership where understanding comes naturally because in rallying, when the notes are flying and the car is sliding, trust isn’t optional, it’s survival.
Vehicle
Nanji currently drives a Subaru Impreza N10, a competitive and reliable rally car suited to the rough and unpredictable terrain of African rallying. The N10 has allowed him to compete effectively in both national and regional events, offering the balance of power, durability, and control required to tackle challenging stages.

The Shell Vpower Pearl Of Africa Uganda Rally 2026
During this year’s Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, Sameer Nanji will be making his first competitive appearance on Ugandan soil, and he will be eager to leave a strong impression.
Representing Kenya, Nanji comes in with determination and a point to prove, aiming to showcase his pace, adaptability, and growing experience as he takes on unfamiliar terrain while flying his nation’s flag high.

Summary
Sameer Nanji continues to establish himself as a determined and steadily improving rally driver in East Africa. From his early days in karting and autocross to competing in major events like the Safari Rally and the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, his journey reflects consistent growth and ambition.
With a solid co-driver partnership, a competitive Subaru Impreza N10, and increasing experience at ARC level, he is well positioned to become a stronger contender in regional rallying.
