2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Tuesday April 21, 2026 | MD 24

  • BUL Vs UPDF – FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru | 4 pm

Time is running out for UPDF FC. With six matches left, they are still searching for their first away win of 2026, a gap that could define their survival fight.

Their next chance comes Tuesday against BUL FC in Njeru. It is a must win moment for a side fighting to stay above the drop, especially in a season where only two teams will be relegated.

UPDF’s struggles on the road are clear. They have not won away since November 2025, when they edged Calvary 1-0.

Since then, every trip has ended in disappointment. Their latest setback, a 1-0 loss to Express FC, summed up their season, competitive, but falling short.

Defensively, they remain vulnerable, with just two clean sheets in their last 14 matches. That weakness could be costly against a BUL side that rarely fails to score at home.

Still, there is a glimmer of hope. UPDF won 2-0 in Njeru last season (2024/25), and BUL are winless in their last three matches.

But history leans toward the hosts, who have won seven of the last 13 meetings, including a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture.

BUL, a win keeps their push for a top eight finish alive. On UPDF’s side, it could be season defining, lifting them to 20 points and easing pressure in the relegation race.

The road ahead remains tough, with trips to Police FC, Entebbe UPPC, and SC Villa, plus home games against URA FC and KCCA FC.

But none of that matters if they cannot fix their form starting now.

Other fixtures see Buhimba United Saints welcome Vipers, URA visit Police, Mbarara City host Maroons, Entebbe UPPC face KCCA, and Express take on NEC.
