The world of sports normally showers praise on athletes and forgets the technical team when victory visits their camps.
Well, winning starts in the boardroom, moves to the training grounds, and culminates in athletes showcasing their abilities to outshine their opponents.
With weeks to go before hosting the 11th edition of the Africa Aquatics Zone III Championships from October 21–25, 2026, Uganda Aquatics has named its technical team.
The Championships will feature swimming, Masters swimming, open water swimming, and water polo at the Kampala International School Uganda facility, which features a 25-meter, 8-lane pool.
“We are pleased to announce the coaching team that will represent and support Team Uganda and Team B at the Africa Aquatics Zone III Swimming Championships, to be held in Uganda,” read the statement signed by Secretary General Max Akiiki.
The team will feature three primary residential coaches, supported by non-residential, open water, and water polo coaches. “Should the number of athletes increase, additional volunteer coaches may be appointed accordingly,” the statement added.
As you read this, the coaching team already in camp with the athletes has only 29 days left to prepare a solid squad to defend the nation’s pride.
“We wish all our coaches, athletes, and the entire Team Uganda the very best as we prepare to host and compete at the Africa Aquatics Zone III Swimming Championships 2026.”
