Ugandan rally crews delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally, proudly raising the country’s flag in the ARC2 category with two podium finishes.
The KCB-sponsored crew of Oscar Ntambi and Pius Luggya, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, claimed an impressive second place in the ARC2 category. The Ugandans finished behind the home crew of Christian Kanangire and Kevi Mujiji of Rwanda, who emerged as category winners after a commanding performance on the demanding gravel stages.
Completing a memorable weekend for Uganda was the experienced Susan “Super Lady” Muwonge, partnered by Musa Nsubuga, who guided her Subaru Impreza to third place in the ARC2 standings.

Muwonge’s determined drive also earned her the distinction of being the only female driver to finish the rally, underlining her resilience and consistency against a competitive field.
Rwanda’s female hopeful, Queen Kalimpinya, together with co-driver Olivier Ngabo, was forced to retire from the event after their Subaru Impreza GVB developed gearbox problems, ending their challenge before the finish.
The strong showing by Ntambi, Luggya, Muwonge, and Nsubuga highlighted the growing strength of Ugandan rallying on the continental stage and provided another encouraging result for the country’s campaign in the FIA African Rally Championship.
With two Ugandan crews on the ARC2 podium, the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally proved to be a successful outing for Team Uganda and a testament to the nation’s rising competitiveness in African motorsport.
