KIGALI, Rwanda – Uganda’s celebrated rally driver Susan “Super Lady” Muwonge, alongside co-driver Musa Nsubuga, made a remarkable return to the FIA African Rally Championship (ARC) by securing a podium finish at the third round of the 2026 ARC Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally.
Competing in the ARC2 category, the Ugandan crew finished an impressive third, marking a successful first international outing after Muwonge’s return to top-level rally competition.
They finished behind Rwanda’s Kanangire Christian, who claimed the category victory, and fellow Ugandan Oscar Ntambi, who secured second place.

The achievement was further highlighted when Muwonge was crowned Best Female Driver of the event, adding another milestone to her distinguished motorsport career.
The award recognized her outstanding performance, determination, and competitive spirit throughout the demanding Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally.
Muwonge’s podium finish is a significant boost for Ugandan motorsport and demonstrates that the “Super Lady” remains a formidable force on the African rally scene.
Together with navigator Musa Nsubuga, the duo delivered a composed and consistent performance on Rwanda’s challenging gravel stages, earning admiration from fans and competitors alike.
