KCCA FC needed a late goal to beat Gaddafi FC 2-1 in the Uganda Premier League at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.

Brian Majwega broke the deadlock for the Kasasiro Boys in the second minute of play, before Alex Kitata equalized for the visitors at the stroke of halftime.

The second for the hosts came in the 79th minute through returnee Allan Okello, as the 13-time champions held on for maximum points and continue their rise up the table.

The result meant KCCA were picking a third win from the four games played at home. The other ended in a draw against URA FC.

After nine games, the Kasasiro Boys climbed to the third position on the 15-team SUPL log with 19 points, one and two adrift of second placed Vipers SC and leaders Wakiso Giants FC, respectively.

On the other hand, the Soldiers Boys dropped to the ninth position with 12 points from nine matches.

KCCA will be guests at Onduparaka FC in their next encounter on Friday, December 02.

On the other hand, Gaddafi will return home in Jinja to host the champions Vipers SC two days later.
