- Vipers 1-0 Wakiso Giants
- BUL 2-1 URA
- Kitara 1-1 Mbarara City
- Maroons 1-3 NEC
Vipers SC continued their Uganda Premier League title pursuit with a narrow 1-0 victory over Wakiso Giants at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Friday evening.
Former Purple Sharks striker Kenneth Kimera netted the only goal in the 55th minute, finishing off a well-placed assist from Frank Katongole.

The win pushed the Venoms to 49 points, extending their lead at the top to five points ahead of second-placed NEC.
Despite the defeat, Wakiso Giants remain in 14th place with 14 points from 20 matches. Their struggles continued as they extended their winless run to seven games (four draws and three losses), increasing their relegation fears.
Vipers had goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza to thank for the clean sheet, as he made crucial saves to deny Rahmat Ssenfuka and Hudson Mbalire.
The match featured several familiar faces, with Grant Matsiko and Kenneth Kimera lining up for Vipers against their former club while Wakiso Giants fielded ex-Vipers players Rahmat Ssenfuka and Tom Masiko.
Adding to the narrative, Vipers coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda faced his former side, making the clash even more intriguing.
In their next fixture, Wakiso Giants will be against UPDF FC on Friday, March 28, while Vipers will visit SC Villa the following day in Wankulukuku.
Elsewhere former Venom Lawrence Tezikya lifted BUL to third on the League Log after scoring a late winner for the hosts against URA.
The two sides had cancelled out each other in the opening half when URA’s Laban Tibita had equalized after Martin Aprem’s early opener for the hosts.
In Hoima, Henry Kitegenyi salvaged a point for Mbarara City after Patrick Henry Kaddu had put Kitara ahead early in the second half.
For SC Villa, the Jogoos secured an important away win at Kavumba with goals from Aslam Ssemakula, Charles Lwanga, and Patrick Jonah Kakande. Nelson Ssenkatuka scored Bright Stars’ only goal.
On the other side, second-placed NEC maintained their chase for the title with a convincing 3-1 victory over Maroons in Luzira.
EnocK Ssebagala and Paul Mucureezi gave the visitors an early lead before Rogers Kiwanuka pulled one back. However, Emmanuel Ajo restored NEC’s two-goal advantage before halftime to seal the win.
