Busitema defeats ISBAT in UFL contest at Wankulukuku

Busitema University secured a decisive 2-0 victory over ISBAT University at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku in the University Football League on October 10, 2024.

Gerald Oola opened the scoring for Busitema in the 17th minute, capitalizing on a well-placed pass from Christopher Okite. The goal was a result of Busitema’s aggressive pressing, which had already created several scoring opportunities earlier in the match.

Despite Isbat’s efforts to mount a comeback, Busitema continued to control the game. Joseph Dinya and Shannon Owino combined effectively to create chances, but ISBAT’s defense held firm until the halftime.

Five minutes into the second half, Isbat had a chance to equalize through John Paul Kizito, but his shot sailed over the bar.

Busitema continued to press forward, creating several opportunities to extend their lead, but Isbat’s defender Mark Kisitu was equal to the task.

The decisive second goal came in the 72nd minute, with Joseph Dinya finally getting his name on the score sheet, assisted by Christopher Okite. Busitema’s superior play ensured that Isbat posed little threat in the remaining minutes.

The result handed the Baboons their first win of the of the campaign, and they climbed to second place in the table behind IUIU.
