One win in the last seven Uganda Premier League games (2 losses, 4 draws, 1 win) is the immediate statistic a KCCA fan would point at after their draw with Police FC in Kavumba on the second day of 2025.

Having started the 2024/25 campaign in control, it was easy to state that Lugogo side, KCCA were favorites to win the League after going 8 games into the season unbeaten.

However, as expected, a football season will always have ups and down because of different reasons like administration, injuries, transfers, form decline, emotional change for players and many others.

For the Kasasiro boys, it might be one or two of the above reasons but never takes away the quality the gentlemen and Head Coach possess as a whole.

Basing on the game played against the Cops, a consistent follower of the League would easily predict a draw because Police had already drawn 8 times this season.

KCCA has drawn 7 times but before these stalemates it was easy to anticipate 1, 2, 3, 4 goals after one sight of the two team Line ups, because of KCCA’s early season good form.

After the game, one of the fans named Hussein Katongole aired out his concerns citing that some of the players look un-interested:

“Olumu abazanyi aba Council abamu basaaga nyoo- Kati laba lelo” he said in his Local Language meaning sometimes a few KCCA players joke a lot – like today.

Other fans who preffered anonymity feel the same way as Katongole but also would love to see more from the Coach and his support staff.

Post-match we also caught up with KCCA Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru who had huge expectations coming into the game;

“We expected maximum points but there are some elements still missing in our game which is that spirit of dying for the Club win” he said

Adding that; “It is getting so common, in the game (decisive) moments were there and we just needed someone to push themselves”

“Last year we had Shaban, you could see he did push himself because he wanted to win the Golden boot and now with what I see am not happy,” Mubiru continued.

“The only positive is that Usama Arafat has started being the real Usama we all know because with him in form it eases work for our forwards,” he concluded.

With one game left to close the First round ahead of CHAN preparations, KCCA FC will climax it away at Kakyeka Stadium against Mbarara City on Tuesday 7th January 2025.

In the League table standings, KCCA comfortably still sit third after 14 games with 24 points despite a decline in their performances and confidence in previous games.
