The Uganda National Men’s Senior Basketball team, the Silverbacks suffered defeats in all the three fourth window games of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

In the Abidjan, Ivory Coast edition, the Silverbacks slid to the bottom of Group E following defeats to Angola, Guinea and the hosts.

The Silverbacks, that did not have any sort of preparations prior, lost the opener to Angola 84-62 on Friday.

It was followed by a 91-80 loss to Ivory Coast on Saturday, despite a strong shift by the team (Uganda).

The last nail in the coffin was a 76-69 against a relatively weaker Guinea on Sunday, displaying Uganda’s woes to the fore.

Despite Uganda leading 64-54 inside the last quarter in the Sunday encounter, the Pearl of Africa somehow failed to hold onto the lead, as Guinea picked their first win of the window.

It can only take the unlikeliest of miracles for Uganda to make it to the World Cup slated for Japan, Phillipines and Indonesia.

Table Standings – Group E 1. Cote d’Ivoire: 7-0
2. Angola: 5-2
3. Cape Verde: 4-3
4. Nigeria: 3-4
5. Guinea: 1-6
6. Uganda: 1-6
