Football coach Mike Mutebi has come out to admit that accepting a deal to work as head coach at Rwandan side, AS Kigali was a mistake he should never have made.
The former KCCA FC coach spent less than three months in the job, before finally choosing to part ways with the club after a series of disagreements and unforeseen unpleasant events.
“It was by accident that I accepted to work as a coach at AS Kigali,” revealed Mutebi to NBS Sport on Tuesday.

“So, when I decided to do things professionally, everything became difficult.”
“They brought in players rejected by other clubs but expected a quick upturn of results. I didn’t enjoy my two months there so I decided to leave.”
Mutebi managed 13 games, winning three, losing as many, and drawing seven games and left the club fifth on the 16-team table with 37 points after 24 matches.

Mutebi also made it public knowledge he is ready to dive into coaching again, albeit, with KCCA out of the picture.
“My chapter at KCCA ended. However, I miss coaching and I am ready for my next test, but, with a new team,” he said.
He previously managed the Lugogo outfit where he attained three league titles, two Uganda Cups, four Super Cups, and one CECAFA Club Cup over a five-year stint making him the most successful manager in the club’s history.
