Uganda Cranes marksman Patrick Kaddu enjoyed a dream debut in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) as his new team Gor Mahia, thrashed Vihiga Bullets 5-0 on Wednesday.

Kaddu joined from FUFA Big League side Kitara FC and netted a second-half hattrick, to add to strikes from Austin Odhiambo and Peter Lwasa.

Meanwhile, compatriot Shafik Kagimu also made his debut with Gor Mahia on Wednesday, five days after his unveiling following a move from URA FC.

The former skipper with the tax collectors has been a free agent since February this year when he parted ways with the four-time Uganda Premier League champions.

Kagimu and Kaddu are under head coach Johnathan McKinstry, who has previously worked with the Uganda Cranes in a similar role.

The three points helped Gor Mahia maintain their six-point lead at the top of the KPL standings over Tusker FC despite playing a game more.

They will now visit nemesis Sofapaka FC on April 5, in their next encounter in the KPL.
