Forward Allan Kayiwa was yet again Express FC‘s savior as he netted once to help his side pick a 1-1 stalemate in the Uganda Premier League against Wakiso Giants FC.

Kayiwa, who is primarily a winger, scored in the 73rd minute after Sharif Kimbowa had handed the Purple Sharks the lead earlier on.

He now leads the topscorer’s chart with 11 goals, a massive show for a man in his debut season at Wankulukuku.

In the evening, the Red Eagles kick-started the better side, and in the 24th minute, Joseph Akandanwaho‘s effort was punched wide by goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya.

Despite Express’ dominion, it’s the visitors that got the opener in the 67th minute, with Kimbowa slotting past custodian Abdu Kimera.

Akandanwaho was then fouled in the Wakiso Giants box before Kayiwa stepped up to score cleanly from the spot.

Express is now eighth with 30 points after 23 games and will return to action with an away encounter against Arua Hill SC at Barifa Stadium.

On the other hand, Wakiso Giants are seventh with 31 points after 24 games and will host BUL FC next at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
